Change starts at home.  When we begin to take care of our local communities, those communities begin to blend together to create an all encompassing community that knows the value of protecting our environment.  In 2010, 82 percent of Americans lived in cities; by 2050 it will be 90%.  Cities are responsible for around two-thirds of the energy used, 60 percent of all water consumed, and 70 percent of all greenhouse gases produced worldwide.  There is a lot that can be done individually within local communities to improve the environment.

THE NEED FOR ENVIROCLUBS

In late 2011, Ernst & Young, in cooperation with GreenBiz Group, conducted a survey consisting of 272 sustainability executives in 24 industry sectors that are employed by companies generating revenue greater than $1 billion. They discovered that 76 percent of survey respondents anticipate natural resource shortages will affect their core business objectives over the next 3-5 years.  The world needs positive change and it will come from the growing community of campus clubs.

ENLIST THE HELP OF AN ENVIROCLUB

EnviroClubs have always felt the need to improve the communities in which they live.  They can help plant trees in your park or neighborhood, cleanup a badly worn trail, or can help you and your community learn how to recycle and become fully sustainable.  Past projects have included weekly glass smashing projects at a local glass recyclers, guidance for community camping trips, and trail cleanups that filled trucks and trucks of garbage away.

Campus EnviroClubs have always put together incredible demonstrations that highlight environmental problems.  Past demonstrations have included a Great Pacific Garbage Patch, human plastic statues, and mountainous sculptures devoid of snow.  Impact from these displays have gained a reputation across many universities and now EnviroClub will bring these exhibits to communities near you.  You will not be disappointed.

In synchronicity with our exhibits, we hold discussion seminars that actively engage the communtiy on the importance of finding solutions to environmental problems.  Our seminars touch on many different environmental topics.  Water, Air, Land, Humans, Plants, and Animals.  We bring in captivating professionals and knowledgable researchers to provide the best insights into how to make effective changes to save the environment.  It all starts at home.  If we can't actively change our own lives at home, how are we supposed to save the world outside our homes?
